SAMIR POV
Date: 6th September 2024
London
10:00 am
As I opened my eyes, I felt my head burning up with a high fever. I held my head with both of my hands as my eyes squeezed shut as the pain increased by each second.
I slowly sat up as u held myself by both sides resting my hands on the bed trying to put the pressure to hold myself up.
Then I heard the a knock on the door
“Hey Sam, Can I come in?” Maya asked from behind the door.
“Yeah, you can enter,” I replied with a sore throat. My voice was a bit lower than usual.
I saw Maya enter the room, closing the door behind her looking concerned.
“OMG! You're burning up cuz!” Maya said, looking worried.
“Stay right there! I will be back” After speaking she dashed out of the room.
A few minutes later
I saw her entering the room with a tray of hot soup and a wet cloth.
She approached me and put the tray down after she placed the cold wet cloth on my forehead.
“Cuz I think you should take a day off of college today besides you don't have college until next week now” She said with a soft and sympathetic tone.
“yeah, I guess you're right..” I replied back with a soft sigh.
“Hey Mai,” I said, looking at her.
“Yeah?” she replied.
“Can you do me a fav-” before I could finish my sentence there was a knock on the door.
“She is here!” Maya said with excitement in her tone.
“Wait? Wha-” Once again before I finish my sentence, Maya rushes to the door opening it to reveal her, Kriti..
Looking as beautiful as ever her dark wavy hair in a French braid.
As she and Maya were talking for a few seconds our eyes met after a few minutes.
Her steps were at a normal pace as she approached me.
“Hi,” She says.
“Hi” I replied back.
“What are you doing here?” I asked as I raised an eyebrow, confused by her sudden entrance.
“Maya just called me. She told me you had a fever and couldn't stay to look after you so she asked me to help out as I don't have lessons today” She answered with a soft tone.
“It's my fault you're sick anyways I was stupid to have brought an umbrella or coat but you risked your health for me. I am so sorry Samir”
She said with guilt in her eyes and voice.
I felt my heart tighten as she just put the blame on herself.
“No, it's not your fault. It was my fault for being careless but I don't regret helping you out. I am just glad you're not sick” I replied back with a serious tone and I made sure I was looking at her to show her I meant every word I just said.
Her face softens slowly.
“I- I appreciate your kind words” She replied back with a small smile as the tension in her eyes started to fade away slowly.
“Of course,” I said with a smile.
“Oh and you don't have to help me out, I will be fine on my own.” I said with sincerity.
“No, it's fine, I want to help you out to thank you from yesterday” She said with a smile.
“Okay, but only because you insisted,” I replied back with a chuckle.
She smiles back which can never stop melting my heart each time.
I never want our conversation to end ever..
