CHAPTER SIX: First day of College

KRITI POV

Date: 5th September 2024

London

9:00 am

Time skip of 4 months later

I step out of the London bus that takes me to my very first day of college.

I hold my shaky breath as I feel my palms sweaty from nerves.

I take out the ID card, they gave me after confirming my place in the college on the reader.

After a few seconds, the giant gates open giving me an entrance to step into the college.

I clutch to the straps of my backpack with my whole life finally letting me take a breath in with my eyes shutting and out as I opened my eyes again taking all the courage I have right now and walking in.

As I stepped inside my footsteps halted as I saw a lot of students in groups talking to their friends which made me feel lonely and miss Maya even more.

Then I heard a familiar deep male's voice-

"Are you okay?"

My heart stops as I turn around seeing his chiseled and warm face.

He was wearing an western outfit, blue jeans and a white crisp shirt different from what I saw him wear at the prom.

He looked worried as I faced him his dark brown eyes showed the hint of it.

I take the courage to speak while I try to fight the bubbles of butterflies in my stomach.

"I am fine" I replied as I looked up at him his face still showing he looks concerned

"If you say so" he said

"But if you need anyone, just know I am here for you"

I responded "Okay, thank you"

He nodded and spoke again-

"I have class now so I will see you later. Text me if you need anything"

After saying that he starts to walk away.

Suddenly, he turned around and spoke-

"You know it was such a shame you had to leave so early that day. I wished you had stayed longer. Who knew what could happen.

Then after a smirk on his lips.

He left leaving me speechless my whole face red my hands covering my face trying to control my breathing.

"What does he mean by that!?"

I thought inside my head, still flustered by his indirect flirting.

Later at 2 pm

I was waiting for the bus at the bus stop freezing as it was cold clutching the bag as I forgot my coat at home.

"Stupid! Weather app! How dare you say it was sunny when I am freezing right now!?" I thought in my head, mad at myself for listening to the weather app.

As I was busy scolding myself in my head.

I then felt strong arms putting a coat around my shoulders.

I flinched and looked up to see him.

He gave me a soft smile.

"I thought you must be freezing" He said after pulling his hands away after he put the coat on me.

My cheeks heat up with hues of red.

"T-thank you, but you really didn't have to" I replied trying to avoid his gaze as my heart races.

"Don't worry about it, I don't want you to catch a cold" He said as he shrugged

When I looked back at him, I noticed that he wasn't wearing a coat, which means he must have given me his coat.

"Aren't you cold?" I asked.

"No, I am fine. Don't worry about it. I don't live far anyways" He replied

"Are you sure?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow wondering if he was lying.

"Yeah, don't worry about it. See you later" After saying that he waved at me and strode off with his hands inside his blue jeans.

I waved back at him but I was surprised that he was walking home.

I guess his apartment isn't far after all, but, still I don't want him to get sick because of my stupidity.

As my mind trails with more thoughts I heard a sound of a bus stopped and saw it was my bus to take home.

I walked towards the bus and stepped inside taking a seat on an empty seat looking at the window as the bus drove me home from a long day of college.
